“In 2023 Joss Construction engaged Hutchins Bros Engineering for the structural steel package for the Mars Petcare - Pouch Facility in Wodonga. This was a complex project involving new production & packaging facilities in a multi-level building, requiring co-ordination with an existing, operational facility, and new process plant & equipment being supplied by Mars under separate contracts.

Joss, Hutchins, MultiCAD, and the client design team worked closely during the shop drawing phase to 3-d survey the existing 180m long building, ensuring the new structure fitted seamlessly, and Mars clean design philosophy for their food production areas was maintained.

The project included numerous platforms with integrated coved steel skirting, walkways, stairs and handrails and the attention to detail to accurately align new works with existing doorways & other key elements over multiple levels was a key to the success of the project. ”
